National Corvette Museum Sinkhole

“Life really is stranger than fiction” is a frequent statement heard from our founder and president Larry Batton. Who could have ever imagined that the earth would swallow up some of the most significant Corvettes at the museum while most of us were asleep?

Auto Appraisal Group is honored to have been chosen by the museum to assist with auto appraisals on each of the Corvettes that fell into the sinkhole. The recovery process was an engineering marvel in itself. Once the vehicles were back on stable ground, our local certified agent was onsite to inspect and document each vehicles condition prior to the incident. The museum had extensive historical documentation on each Corvette which was utilized during our evaluations. Check out this mini documentary by GM about the sinkhole.
AAG has assisted other museums with value appraisals of the vehicles in their collection for a variety of reasons including securing proper insurance coverage and resale values. AAG has also assisted the owners of vehicles donated to a museum to secure as independent appraisal for income tax purposes. AAG can assist museums with our “Document Your Auto” service which verifies historical provenance, originality, modifications, and other pertinent history that is unique to that vehicle.
